I am a 26 year old college graduate with a 2 yr A.S. in business administration. I am part of the working class but in an all commissioned position I have fallen short and had to deplete my Roth IRA just to pay monthly expenses and I am still behind. I just applied for EBT and there is no doubt in my mind that I qualify. Quite frankly, I would be embarrassed to go anywhere with this “hand out”, but on the other hand I am in an industry that serves business owners and provides merchant services, gift and loyalty cards and many business owners are annoyed by my industry and treat me like dirt. They are negative and don’t think they need to contribute but want everyone to shop at their stupid store.I am proud that they have to pay for my food stamps after the damage they have done. It’s not like this was my plan in life but sh*t I don’t see many of you hiring! However, I feel horrible that people like my father, and grandfather who have paid a fortune in taxes during their lifetime are making up for the rest of society who want to treat people like garbage (merchant services, telemarketers, and sales people in particular) during a recession. It should be mandatory that grocery stores accept EBT and if you don’t like it start hiring! Don’t worry I knocked over a box of blueberries in their store the other day and they had to throw it out, maybe that will be my new tradition every time I “shop” there. Knock shit over so they can’t make money on that.
